TESTIMONIALS

Dear Sebastian,
I am writing you this email to sing the praises of your pilates teacher Angie. I recently had surgery on my foot and as a result I am unable to bend my toe due to swelling. I was hesitant to return to pilates since there were many exercises I couldn't do because of my toe, such as catfish and any type of lunge. I didn't want to be a distraction to the other members or the instuctor while I was standing around waiting for the next excerise.
Once my doctor gave me clearance to go back to exercise, I talked to Angie about my surgery and said I'll just wait until the next exercise when we came across something I couldn't do. Angie was beyond considerate, she gave me other exercises to do that would work the same parts of my body that didn't involve me bending my toe. She never made me feel like I was getting special attention and she even helped me feel comfortable about the fact that my toe couldn't bend. I no longer felt uncomfortable around the other people in the class because I couldn't bend my toe.
Besides my surgery, I feel like Angie is probably one of the better instructors I have had. I feel like she works my entire body and I have seen a drastic change as a result. She pays attention to each student and helps everyone when it comes to positioning and how the exercise needs to be done correctly. She has even held me up a few times just so I knew the correct way to do the exercise. I took my mom to one of her classes and she absolutely loved Angie and wished she had a morning class she could take!
Thank You,
J. S.

QUESTION ABOUT SIGNING UP

Hi,

I just ran across your website. I'm really out of shape and have decided that I need to do something now. I have not worked out to any extent in about 5 years and I'm about 40 lbs over weight. Prior to this, I was very fit, went to the gym 5 days a week, and danced 3 days. I have no doubt that I can do the work out, though it may be difficult in the beginning. I'm just wondering if I'm going to feel terribly out of place at your gym. Is everyone ripped, or are there people there who are trying to get in shape like me?
ANSWER: Not at all. All our instructors and members are very helpful and supportive. This is not Berry's Boot Camp. The classes are intense but it's all taught in good fun!

LOOSING WEIGHT

"Hi Sebastian,

I have been doing your workout faithfully for six months now 3 – 4 times per week. I have seen great results in terms of toning but I really want to lose that last 10 pounds. In addition to cleaning up my diet, is there another other workouts that you recommend that I do to help me lose the weight? What is optimal for pilates? Is 3 – 4 days per week enough?

For the first time in my life, I can honestly say that I am hooked on your workout and I truly enjoy it. I would really appreciate your input. This 10 pounds has been following me around for a long time!

Thanks so much."
ANSWER:
Thank you for your comments.I think that 2 to 3 times a week is optimum. You need time to rest and recover in between the sessions. Believe it or not, it's during that time that you will be building muscle and lose fat!If you already have a clean diet but have a hard time to shed those 10 lbs, you can drink more water (water metabolize stored fat)and you can try to add a little more cardio like a hike or brisk walk and see how your body responds. It's tricky, because your body constantly adjust to the workout regimen, so what worked to lose the 1st 10 lbs may not work to lose the next 10 lbs. Thanks,S

SHARED MEMBERSHIP

"I just moved to LA, and I'm really excited about finding a Pilates studio. (I loved my Pilates classes in the San Francisco Bay Area, where I was living for the last few years). I've heard great things about Pilates Plus, and I'm interested in buying a package of classes. If I like the first class, I'd like to get the unlimited package. My living situation right now is kind of complicated because I am living in Los Feliz a few days a week and living in West Hollywood a few days a week. I'm really hoping to find a membership that will allow me to work out in both locations. I know that there is a Pilates Plus in Silverlake, and I was wondering if it would be possible for me to buy some sort of package that would let me attend classes in both locations. If there is any way this is possible, please let me know, and I would really appreciate it.Thanks so much, and I look forward to hearing from you"
ANSWER:
Each studio is owned and operated independently. Therefore, you membership is only valid at the studio where you buy it at. If you really want to attend both studios, I would recommend our $59 monthly pass which allows you to come once per week and allows you to purchase additional session for that week at $15 each. It's the most economical solution. I'm trying to get other studio owners on board with that program so that more members can go to several locations without paying the full price at each. I would love to hear your thoughts on that? Thanks, S.
